Jim Bender

James Richard “Jim” Bender, Jr., 75 of Goldsboro, died Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at home surrounded by family.

The funeral was held Friday September 8, at Wayne Memorial Park.

Jim is survived by his son Richie Bender of Maryland; sisters, Connie Hopper (Mike) and Cynthia Tucker (Jerry) of Goldsboro; nephews, Chris Hopper (Jamie) and Chris Griffin (Ashley).

He was preceded in death by wife, Carol Peele Bender; parents, James R. Bender, Sr. and Julia Ann Winstead Bender.

Jim and his father operated the former Bender’s Hardware in Fremont. He was owner of Bender’s Photography for many years.
