Jimmie Lee Godwin, 89, of Bailey, died Wednesday, February 10, 2021, in his home.

Funeral, Sunday at 2:00 PM, Bailey Cemetery. Visitation, Saturday, 6:00 – 7:30 PM, Wilson Memorial Service.

Jimmie is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Lorene Johnson Godwin; sons, Daniel Wayne Godwin of Lucama, Marty Allen Godwin (Wendy) of Lucama, Robin Criss Godwin (Mary Catherine) of Snow Hill and Phillip Godwin of Nashville; grandchildren, Blane Godwin, Shane Lancaster, Raeanna Godwin, Max Lynn Peele, Jr., Brian Keith Peele, Benjamin David Tugwell, Amber Bailey and Robin Nicole Godwin; great-grandchildren, Addilyn Rose Godwin, Daniel Blane Godwin, Jr., Malaki Grey Godwin, Noah Bellamy Godwin, Alexander Reed Godwin, Sydney Lee, Ashlyn Ritch, Adalyn Bailey, Logan Bailey and R.J. Nyonka.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Celia Mae Bass Godwin; daughter, June Godwin O’Connell; sisters, Estelle Hill, Inez Pierce, Daisy Bass, Lillie Mae Mayo and Cleo Hayes; brothers, Willie Godwin, Henry Godwin, Marvin Godwin, Robert Godwin, David Godwin and Daniel Godwin.
