ELM CITY - James "Jimmy" R. Deans, 73, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Joyner; parents, Andrew Jackson and Lessie Barnes Deans of Wilson County; brothers, Vernon Deans, Lester Deans and Bobby Deans.
Funeral, Saturday, 9:45 AM, Wilson Memorial Service, Wilson, followed by interment in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Surviving is his wife, Mavis Williams Deans; daughters, Brenda Joyner (Tommy) of Wilson, Karen Faison (Rev. Brian) of Hurt, VA; grandchildren, Zach Joyner of Wilson, Rebekah and Elizabeth Faison of Hurt, VA; sister, Edith Kirby (Leatrice) of Lucama; brother, Kenneth Deans (Peggy) of Rocky Mount.
The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, Friday, 6:30 - 8:00 PM.
