James Wesley “Jimmy” Gardner, 90, of the Gardners School Community, Stantonsburg, died Saturday, January 10, 2026.

Funeral, Wednesday, 11:00 AM, at Wilson Memorial Service followed by a time of visiting and sharing. Burial, Evergreen Memorial Park.

Mr. Gardner owned a vinyl siding business, served in the Army in Germany, and was a member of Unity FWB Church in Wilson.

Surviving is his wife, Helen Walston Gardner; sons, David Proctor of the home, Chris Gardner (Christine) of Southern Shores and Michael Gardner of Greensboro; grandchildren, Alexandra Batschelet (Trey) of Manteo, Harrison Gardner of Charleston, SC, Scottie Gardner (Lauren) of Louisburg, Hannah Gardner of Greensboro, Chandler Gardner of Wake Forest, Grace Fields, and Nicholas Gardner; several great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Beverly Gardner of Wake Forest.

Mr. Gardner was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Ida Mae Rogers Gardner of Wilson County; sons, Anthony and Jeffrey Gardner; grandson, Andrew Gallant; sisters, Louise Hubbard, Annette Peed, Katherine Gardner; brothers, Ervin Gardner and Leland Gardner; his first wife, Judy Carol Speight Gardner.
