Jo-Ann Batts Davis, 82, of Wilson, died Monday, March 16, 2026.
Funeral, Friday, 12:00 Noon, Wilson Memorial Service, followed by a time of visiting and sharing.
Mrs. Davis was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud “Nana;” she was the true embodiment of family first—always putting others before herself and sometimes going without so her children would never have to. She created a home where everyone felt welcomed, loved, and deeply cared for.
Jo-Ann had a special gift for making memories with her grandchildren—moments filled with warmth, laughter, and intention that they will cherish forever. From Christmases and family birthdays spent together, she showed her love in the most tangible ways.
She lived a life rooted in faith, always offering prayers, encouragement, and unconditional love. She deeply believed in her family, instilling in them a sense of purpose and confidence and fostering a bond that will last a lifetime.
Her legacy is one of kindness, strength, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to God and to her family. Jo-Ann was truly a light in the lives of so many and will be deeply missed until we see her again.
Surviving is her husband, Tom Davis; daughter, Sherry Thornton (Jeff) of Winterville; son, David Davis of the home; daughter-in-law, Delaina Davis of Atlantic Beach; grandchildren, Christina Moton (David), Tyler Davis, Jessica Reginaldi (John), Christopher Davis (Katie), Holly Davis, Ben Davis (Carleigh), Hannah Thornton, and Evan Thornton; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Madelyn, Naomi, James, Chandler, Callahan, and Zoey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Dora Holland Batts; son, Greg Davis in 2020; grandson, Kyle Davis; sisters, Dorothy Congleton (George) and Judy Robbins (Dan).
Memorials are suggested to Peace Church, 2838 Tilghman Rd N, Wilson, NC 27896.
