Joyce Ferrell

Joyce Petway Ferrell, 92, of Wilson, died Thursday, June 12, 2025.

Funeral, Tuesday, 11:00 AM, Wilson Memorial Service, followed by visitation. Interment, Maplewood Cemetery. The family will be at 8118 Bend of the River Rd, Rocky Mount, at other times.

Mrs. Ferrell was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker and was the main caregiver for all family members. She was a faithful member of Forest Hills Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Earl Ferrell (Charlotte) of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Jenna Brewer (Walt), Ken Ferrell (Ann), Don Ferrell (Laurie); great-grandchildren, Brittany, Michael (Erin), Justin, Miranda (Cody), Allison, Joshua and Holly; and great-great-grandchildren, Colton, David, Ryder, Bentley, Lawson, Eli, and Oakley.

Mrs. Ferrell was preceded in death by her husband James Earl “Shorty” Ferrell; daughter, Carolyn Finn; great-grandson, Alex Ferrell, and sister, Jean P. Hill.
