Joyce Morgan

Joyce Davis Boykin Morgan, 94, of Wilson, died Sunday, August 30, 2026.

A Memorial Service will be on Thursday, September 3, 3:00 PM, at Wilson Memorial Service followed by visitation.

Ms. Morgan was born in Johnston County on September 8, 1931, to William Ashley Davis and Gladys Lorraine Crawford Davis.

She was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church and taught Sunday school. She had been a member of the Golden Circle Optimist Club and enjoyed gardening, flowers, and was a great cook. Christmas get-togethers at her house with family and grandchildren was her greatest joy in life.

Ms. Morgan is survived by her daughter Wanda Black (Dwight) of Indian Trail; sons, Walter Boykin (Judy) and Mark Boykin (Pamela) of Kenly, and Jeffery Boykin of Evanston, Wyoming; grandchildren, Krista McLain (Stephen), Laura Caldwell (Phillip), Chad Boykin (Jennifer), and Hannah Moats (Tanner); step-grandchildren, Vernon Bass (Reba), Aimee Strickland (Jamie), and Michelle Dudley (Mark); several great-grandchildren; sister, Sarah Renfrow of Kenly; several nieces and nephews.

A special thank you is extended to her caregiver, Judy Bottoms, and to Dr. Will Bynum and his staff.
