J.T. Parker

John Thomas “J.T.” Parker, Jr., also known as “Jay”, 91, of Lucama, died Thursday, December 21, 2023.

The visitation will be Wednesday, December 27, 12:00 – 1:00 PM, at Wilson Memorial Service, followed by the funeral at 1:00 PM.  Entombment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Langston Parker in April of this year; parents, Jas T. and Frossie Bissett Parker of Wilson County; grandson, Blake Taylor; sisters, Annie Sullivan & Rosetta Davis; brothers, Clarence Parker and James Parker.

Surviving is his daughter, Joy Cobb (Rev. Keith) of Lucama; granddaughter, Erin Taylor; step-grandchildren, Lisa C. Peaden (Larry), Derek Cobb and Brentley Cobb (Jodi); great-granddaughter, Sophia Farley; sisters, Christine Brown and Marie Harvey; brother, Ray Parker; several nieces and nephews.

Many will remember him for his years locally in construction and home repairs.  He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
