June Carraway Carr, 93, of Wilson, died Saturday, November 5, 2022, in her home.

Funeral, Tuesday, 1:00 PM, First Presbyterian Church.  Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.  The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, Monday, 7:00 – 8:30 PM.

Surviving is her husband, Marshall M. Carr; daughter, Diane Mayhew (Winston) of Statesville; sons, Alan Carr (Beth) of Rosewood and Brian Carr (Jenny) of Elm City; grandchildren, Brad Mayhew (Jamie), Scott Mayhew (Spruill), Jason Mayhew (Mandy), Phillip Mayhew (Yesenia), Emily Waddell (Joel), Taylor Carr (Summer) and Zac Carr (Jessica); great-grandchildren, Evan, Coyt, Holt, Suiter, Ben, Sallie, Mary Whitaker, Charlie and Theo Mayhew, Carlee Waddell, Lilly Faith Waddell and Palmer Carr; aunt, Ruth Slater Flowers of Raleigh; sisters-in-law, Margaret C. Scott of Warsaw and Mary Carraway of Raleigh; and caretaker, Elizabeth Williams.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Raeford and Lillie Slater Carraway of Snow Hill in Greene County.

She taught the 7th Grade for several years before joining the State Agriculture Extension Service where she worked as a Home Demonstration Agent for over 27 years in Wilson County.

Active in the community, she served as a deacon in her church and enjoyed her time in the Wilson Peace By Piecing Quilt Guild. In 2005-06, she was one of the first women to serve as president of the North Carolina TPA Chapter.
