Katie “Kay” Carpenter Lynch, 87, of Wilson, died Monday, April 26, 2021.

Funeral, Thursday, 11:00 AM, Evergreen Memorial Park.  Masks and social distancing are suggested.

She was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church.  Many will remember her from the Fike High School cafeteria as "Mis Edna".

Mrs. Lynch is survived by her husband, Marvin Lynch; daughter, Angie Maynard (Tom) of Knightdale; grandchildren, Benjamin Maynard and Alexander Maynard; sisters, Rochelle Whitehead and Roselle Tyson of Nashville and Eleanor Howell of Grifton; brothers, Truman Carpenter of Angier and Ravin Carpenter of Nashville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Cleora Williams Carpenter; son, Walter Alan Lynch; sisters, Anna Whitman, Mavis Webb, Betty Lou Earp and Ruth Bailey; brothers, Redmon Carpenter, Alton Carpenter and Walter Gray Carpenter, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Forest Hills Baptist Church Building Fund, 1407 Forest Hills Rd NW, Wilson, NC 27896.
