Kay Rose

Edna Kay Del Frazier Rose, of Eureka, was ushered into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, September 10, 2023 while surrounded by family in her son’s home. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday, September 13, 4:00 PM, at Heart of David Ministries, Eureka.  The visitation will be one hour before the service.  Interment will be in the Eureka Cemetery.

Kay was preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Max Fulghum Rose. The youngest of three girls born to Bessie Sauls Frazier and Conway Gibson Frazier, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Lou Barnett and Dorothy Gibson “Dot” Bailey.

Kay was an LPN who practiced at Wayne Memorial Hospital and O’Berry before disability forced her to retire early from public service.   She remained active in her church and community and spent her time loving on her family and friends.  She was an active member of the Heart of David Church in Eureka.   Kay enjoyed sports and was an athlete who played basketball for Eureka High School.  She was an avid NCSU fan and enjoyed attending many State basketball games with family and friends and shared a love of Yankees baseball with her son. 

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Todd and wife, Elizabeth; granddaughters, Anna Rose Shivar (Garrett) of La Grange and Amber Rose of Eureka; and the apple of her eyes her great granddaughters, Caroline and Ava Shivar; sister-in-law, Cherry Rose Hinson and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
