Kay Yelverton

Kay Taylor Yelverton, 87, of Fremont, passed peacefully Sunday, June 19, 2022.

Funeral, Saturday, 11:00 AM, Elmwood Cemetery, Fremont.  The visitation will immediately follow at Fremont United Methodist Church.

Kay was an avid Tarheel fan and enjoyed attending all events her children and grandchildren participated in. Kay graduated from East Carolina University and was lovingly known as Mrs. Yelverton during her 25 years of teaching at Fremont Elementary School. She always enjoyed cooking, hosting family gatherings, and gardening. 

She was preceded in death by her husband George E. Yelverton; son, Steve Yelverton; parents, Edgar and Selma Lane Taylor.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary-Kay Reynolds (Rich) of Snohomish, Washington; sons, Bill Yelverton (Jan Kelly) of Goldsboro and Eddie Yelverton (Cindy) of Fremont; grandchildren, Scott Yelverton of Fremont and Maegan Yelverton (Masha Thorne) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; sister, Dr. Mary Lane Wood of Warsaw.
