Keith Barnes

Michael Keith Barnes, 76, of Wilson, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025, after an extended illness.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 2 – 4 PM at the NC Baseball Museum at Fleming Stadium, Wilson, NC.

Keith was a US Army Veteran, graduate of Fike High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was a photographer and columnist at the Wilson Daily Times, and author of three books, having completed writing a fourth book on the history of Parker’s BBQ that has not been published. Keith also was president of the North Carolina Baseball Museum located in Wilson, NC.

Keith is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gale Murphy Barnes; son, Will Barnes; sister-in-law, Peggy Wilson (Danny) and their children, Michael Wilson, Mark Wilson, Anna Brock and their children; his beloved dog, Ella.
