ELM CITY - Luther V. Stone, 95, died early Thursday, September 22, 2016, at the home of his daughter, Janet Edmundson, and her husband, Charlie, where he had lived for the past two years.
Funeral, Saturday, 4 PM, Kenly Cemetery, Kenly, with a short time of visiting to follow.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Savada Stancil Stone and Inez Pope Stone, and a daughter, Faye Elliott.
L.V. had worked with Hackney Body Works for over forty years.
Surviving in addition to Janet is his son, Elvin Stone (Carol) of Kenly and a daughter, Nancy S. Wallace (Linwood) of Smithfield; grandchildren, Beth Davis (Nick), Nicole Ridout (Stephen) and Michael Stone (Donna); several great-grandchildren.
