Lalyce Rhodes

RALEIGH - Lalyce Simmons Rhodes, 97, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Glenaire Nursing Home, Cary.

Funeral, Thursday, 10:00 AM, Montlawn Memorial Park, conducted by Dr. Larry Harper.

Lalyce was a charter member of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Raleigh. She was a former employee of Hudson-Belk, past member of the Women's Club and Red Cross volunteer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Sugg Rhodes: son-in-law, Henry Markham Jr.: parents, James and Lula Honeycutt Simmons: sisters, Eulalia Butler, Cleown Honeycutt, Mollie Mann and Ilee Honeycutt: brothers, Vardell, Ernie and Bernie Simmons.

She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Markham of Knoxville, TN: son, Charles Truman Rhodes and wife, Sue Rhodes of Decatur, TX: sister, Leora Baggett of Kenly: five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren: several nieces and nephews.
