EUREKA - Leona Sasser Cobb, 91, died Thursday, June 30, 2016.
Funeral, Sunday, 3:00 PM, Eureka United Methodist Church, followed by a time of visiting and sharing. Interment, Eureka Cemetery beside her husband, Tom Cobb, who died in 1997.
She was committed to education in Lee and Wayne Counties for many years. A faithful musician, she was an organist and pianist for over 60 years with the last 40 years being at Eureka United Methodist Church. She was a member of United Methodist Women and Extension Club of Northern Wayne County.
Mrs. Cobb is survived by her daughters, Sue Webb (Ricky) of Stantonsburg and Jan Fairley (Clay) of Southport; grandchildren, Elizabeth Fairley, Amanda Fairley, John Thomas Fairley, Leigh Webb and Thomas Webb; sister, Janice Chase of Eureka; brother-in-law, Max R. Cobb of Kinston; niece, Lu Massey (Lou); nephew, Johnnie Chase; great-nephews, Chase Massey (Emily) and Jackson Massey (Nicki).
