Linda Wheeler

Linda Johnston Wheeler, 78, of Wilson, died September 19, 2025.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday, September 24 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church. The visitation will be Tuesday, September 23, 6:00 - 7:30 pm at Wilson Memorial Service.

Linda was a secretary at North Carolina Special Care Center (now Longleaf) for over twenty years and church hostess at First Baptist Church of Wilson for over twenty years.

Linda is survived by her son, Jay Wheeler (Jill) of Wilson; step-sons, Perry Thomas "Tommy" Wheeler of Wilson, Phillip Allen "Phil" Wheeler (Debbie) of Rocky Mount, and Mark Elmer Wheeler of Sneads Ferry; grandchildren, Jackson and Elliott Wheeler; sisters, Sheila Johnson (Stan) of Bailey, and Ouida Holden of Shallotte; brother, Harmon "Vance" Johnston of Wilmington; nieces Shannon Phelps and Jennifer Johnston, nephews Brandon (Jaymi) Tomlinson, Anthony Johnston.

Mrs. Wheeler was preceded in death by her husband James Glenn Wheeler; parents, Harmon Pitts "Johnny" Johnston and Ella Jo Vaughan Johnston.
