Lisa Hill Gardner

Lisa Hill Gardner, 54, of Elm City passed away on the morning of February 20, 2024. She was born on August 9, 1969 as the youngest daughter to Jesse and Rebecca Hill of Wilson.

Services will be held Sunday, February 25, at Wilson Memorial Service - 2811 Fieldstream Dr. in Wilson, at 4:00 pm. The family will receive friends and family directly following the service. Burial will be for the immediate family.

Lisa devoted many years of her life to Bridgestone Firestone working in the medical department. When she left there she opened her own pet sitting business, Lady Paws Pet Care, where she accumulated a lot of devoted clients, many of whom became great friends. She then began working at Truist Bank several years ago where she was a beloved coworker and employee in the fraud department. She continued her pet sitting services part time while working at Truist and continued to do so until she was called Home.

Lisa was an extremely talented writer, and had some of her works published while she was in college. She used her love for writing and learning and was the proud bearer of a Paralegal Degree as well as an Associates Degree in Writing.

Lisa was an avid lover of all animals. She volunteered with many local rescue groups over the years and fostered many dogs, cats, ferrets, and any other critter in need. She was a jack of all trades and enjoyed learning how to DIY anything and everything. She used that talent to help build gates for a non-profit that was very near and dear to her heart, Together No Tether.

Above all, Lisa considered her two daughters to be the light of her life. Her role as a mother was her greatest treasure, and her girls always referred to her as the best mom God ever made. She loved them fiercely and thought herself incredibly blessed to have them. However, they believe they were the lucky ones. She is survived by her oldest daughter, Lauren Robbins and beloved son-in-law, Miller of Elm City; and her youngest daughter, Amber Kaitlyn Gardner of Elm City. She is also survived by her very loved and spoiled fur kids - Astrid, Milo, Charlotte, Stinker, Charlie, Rose, Fluff, Chloe, Patches, Snowy and Houdini.

Lisa was one in a million to all who knew and loved her. She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her loss will be felt far and wide.

In addition to her daughters, she is survived by her mother, Rebecca S. Hill of Wilson; her beloved nephew Travis Wethington (and Mandy) of Elm City and their children Tristyn and Lucas; her niece Jeslyn Wethington (and fiancé Austin) of Bailey; as well as many other cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Preston Hill; and her sister, Susan Hill Wethington.

Flowers are welcome, or in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Together No Tether at PO Box 184 Elm City, NC 27822.
