Lois Tipton

Lois McDonald Tipton, 99, formerly of Wilson, died April 22, 2021, at the home of her son in Chesapeake, VA.

Funeral, Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM, Wilson Memorial Service. (Masks and social distancing are encouraged.)

Surviving is her son, Richard Tipton (Theresa); grandchildren, Paula, Gary and Brad Tipton; several great- and great-great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Ferrell of Lucama.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 1979; parents, Jesse J. and Mae Mumford McDonald; son, Robin Tipton; grandson, Bryan Tipton; sister, Clara Owens; and brothers, Luther, Marvin and Ira McDonald.

She began her nursing career during WWII and worked until her retirement in 1986 from Wilson Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong member of Forest Hills Baptist Church.
