Lloyd Neilson “Neil” Vick, 66, of Stantonsburg, died Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
A graveside service will be at Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson, Friday at 10:00am followed by visitation.
Neil was a devoted husband, dad, and granddad. If you knew Neil, you knew a man who rarely sat still unless he had a fishing rod in his hand. He was a man who built things—not just through his many years of hard work in the building industry, but through the life and community he crafted. Neil loved being outside, and he loved being useful. If there was a project to be done or a neighbor in need, Neil was already there with his sleeves rolled up.
But as much as he loved his work, his community, and the outdoors, nothing compared to the love he had for his family. He was a devoted husband and dad, but being a granddad was his true crowning glory. His favorite place in the world was wherever his grandkids were. Whether he was sitting in the bleachers at a ballgame or attending a school event, Neil was always there, radiating pride. He leaves us with a beautiful blueprint of what it means to love deeply, work hard, and serve others.
He was preceded in death by his wife Kimberly Smith Vick; parents, Lloyd Edgar Vick, and Jean Elizabeth Yelverton Vick.
Neil is survived by his daughters Amanda Ross (Mark) and Heather Stanczyk (Mariusz) of Stantonsburg; grandchildren, Nathan and Luke Ross and Alex and Abigail Stanczyk; brother, Ricky Vick (Nancy) of Stantonsburg and sister, Debbie Balint (Steve) of Boulder, CO.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saratoga OFWB Church, 6122 US Hwy 117, Lucama, NC 27851. His grandchildren were his absolute world; if you wish to support them directly, please note "Vick Grandchildren Fund" in the memo line of your contribution.
