Funeral, Sunday, 2:00 PM, Walstonburg Cemetery.
She was born October 3, 1919 in Pitt County. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Lee Shackelford, Sr., who died in 2007; parents, Henry and Fannie Holloman Nichols and four sisters. Ora was known best for her loving service to Howell Swamp Free Will Baptist Church, her family and her community.
Surviving is her daughter, Gloria S. Hyatt (Tom) of Durham; sons, David W. Shackelford of Walstonburg and Harper L. Shackelford, Jr. (Debra) of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Adam, Jenna, Jordan, Andy and Brian.
