Owen Tyndall Jr.

Owen Tyndall Jr., 77, of Stantonsburg, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

He was born on April 29, 1948, to the late Owen Sr. and Lillie Mae Overman Tyndall. He was married to his loving wife, Gale, for 57 years.

Owen was a member of the Lindell community and known as a loving husband, father and “Da”. Owen proudly owned and operated Tyndall’s Used Cars for over 40 years. He could often be found working on a car in his shop or at an auto auction. If he wasn’t there, he was likely out spoiling one of his grandchildren. Owen will be missed by his friends and family, but we rejoice in knowing he is at peace.

Owen was preceded in death by his daughter, Tara Tyndall Carter (2017).

He is survived by his wife, Gale, and daughter Shannon Honeycutt and husband Russell, as well as his grandchildren, Meagan Honeycutt Valcourt and husband Brett, Jami Honeycutt-Lockamy and husband Caleb, Anna Grayce Honeycutt, Hunter Jernigan and wife Jamie, and Lexi Jernigan.

A service will be held at First Baptist Church of Stantonsburg at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 8, 2025 with Pastor Chet Raines officiating. The family will hold a private burial at 4:00 pm.
