Patricia Gardner

Patricia Allan Gardner was born in Wilson, NC to Emilie Crawford Gardner and Wesley Allen Gardner on December 22, 1946. She died on April 1, 2026 at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

She graduated from Ralph L. Fike High School in 1964 and from Stratford College in Danville, Virginia in 1966. She was enrolled in undergraduate studies in UNC-Chapel Hill from 1966-68.

She was employed as a law clerk in Charleston, S.C., taught at Micro Elementary School, Corinth Holders Elementary School, and West Carteret High School. She graduated from Atlantic Christian College with a B. A. in History in 1973.

After moving to Palm Beach, Florida, she taught at John I. Leonard High school. She received an M. S. in Administration and Supervision from Nova University and had several positions in the school systems until she retired and moved to Wilmington, North Carolina.

In Wilmington, she was a member of St. James Episcopal Parish, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Delta Kappa Gamma Society.

Survivors include her sister, Dr. Linda G. Jobe; a nephew, Dr. Lee Jobe and his wife, Donna, C. Jobe; a great niece, Lydia Jobe Cole and her husband, Stephen Cole; and a great great nephew, Bennett Stephen Cole, all of Raleigh; and a great nephew, Tyler Jobe and his wife, Emily Jobe of Lexington, Kentucky.

A graveside service be at Maplewood Cemetery, 400 College St W, Wilson, NC at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11.
