Paul Balsbaugh

Paul Edward Balsbaugh, 64, of Wilson, died Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

The funeral will be at 1:00 PM on January 24 at First United Methodist Church 100 Green St NE, Wilson.

Paul lived a life of service to his community, ensuring that Wilson's drinking water was always pure and safe as a senior lab technician for the city of Wilson. Specializing in Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy and many other lab techniques and analyses. He lived his professional life in the lab and loved his work and coworkers. Upon retiring, Paul became a crossing guard. He loved the children and looked forward to seeing them every day.  He enjoyed rockhounding, woodworking, and classic American muscle cars.

He loved his family and friends and was always kind-hearted, always seeking to help those in need. He left a tremendous mark on this world, far more than he ever realized.

Paul is survived by his mother Patricia, his brother Jim, as well as his sisters-in-law, Peggy and Melanie Balsbaugh.

His father, James H. Balsbaugh, and brother David F. Balsbaugh, preceded him in death.
