Ray W. Godwin, 81, of Wilson, died Friday, June 3, 2011.
Funeral, Sunday, 2 PM, Covenant Presbyterian Church, followed by visitation. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
He was one of four brothers that owned the former Godwin's Barbeque. Ray was an Air Force veteran and was preceded in death by a son, Ray Waddell Godwin, Jr.
Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Frances Barnhill Godwin; daughter, Trudy Morris (Tim) of Wilson; son, Mark Godwin (Jennifer) of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Allison Morris, Ashley Watkins (Matt), Abby Godwin and Marshall Godwin; sister, Eula Godwin of Kenly and brother, Thurston Godwin of Kenly.
Memorials are suggested to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2630 Tilghman Rd N, Wilson NC 27896.
