R.B. Lancaster

STANTONSBURG - Redden Bryant “R.B.” Lancaster Jr., 93, of the Watery Branch Community, passed away peacefully on Monday September 12, 2022 at his home.

The visitation will be Thursday, 6:00 – 8:00 PM, at Watery Branch FWB Church.  The funeral will be Friday, 11:00 AM, at the church.  Interment, will follow in the Eureka Cemetery, Eureka.

R.B. was born on June 29, 1929.  On October 20, 1948 he married Dotsie Coley who preceded him in death on November 12, 2012.  In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, Redden and Selma Worrell Lancaster; sister, Marie Lancaster Taylor and brother, Bud Lancaster. 

He was a member of Watery Branch FWB Church where he served many years in the choir.  He had a servant’s heart and loved to sing in his church.  R.B. farmed for most of his life, but what he was known for was his BBQ.  Between his restaurant and catering his BBQ was well known.  He loved being active in his church, loved cutting grass, and loved his family unconditionally.

R.B. is survived by his sons, Ronald Lancaster (Jane), Richard Lancaster (Linda) and Glenn Lancaster (Samone); grandchildren, Sarah Carraway (Kyle), Vann Lancaster (Kayla), Derek Lancaster (Lindsay), Julia Arnette (Michael), Bryant Lancaster (Kara) and Shelly Lancaster; great-grandchildren, Brady Carraway, Walker Carraway, Corie Lancaster, Collins Lancaster and Maya Arnette; sisters, Linda Wise (Jimmy), Gray Sauls, Shirley Holt and Hilda Boyette; brother, Ray Lancaster (Lynn).
