Richard Privette

Richard Brooks Privette, 87, of Wilson, died Friday, March 20, 2026.

Funeral, Sunday, March 29, 3:00 PM, at Wilson Memorial Service. The visitation will be before the service from 1:30 - 3:00 PM.

Mr. Privette was born in Wilson County on October 9, 1938 to Wesley Brooks Privette and Annie Richardson Privette. He graduated from Bailey High School in 1957 and served in the US Marines 2nd Batallion from 1957-1960. Mr. Privette graduated from Pitt Community College with a degree in graphic design. He married Peggy Eatmon in 1958 and she preceded him in death in 1984. He later married Jane Berry Fletcher in 1997.

He is survived wife, Jane Berry Privette; son, Richard Allan Privette (Deborah); step-children, Ret. Col. Timothy Fletcher (Audrey), Matthew Fletcher (Cathy), Brian Fletcher (Sally), Erin Pearson (James), and Kelly Walker (Jeff); grandchildren, Kaylan Privette, Olivia Fletcher, Robert Fletcher, Caleb Fletcher (Anna Havener), Alizah Fletcher (Reinaldo Prezeau), August Chapman, Cannon Chapman, Aidan Fletcher, Megan Fletcher, Emily Pearson, Emma Pearson, Eli Pearson, Paitin Webb (Caleb), Paige Howell, Cameron Howell, Ryan Walker, and Zach Walker (Demi); great-grandchildren, Jacob Havener, Jude Havener, Jackson Fletcher, Jameson Fletcher, Deegan Nichols, Castiel Prezeau, Trinity Prezeau, Sutton Walker, Sloan Walker, Krew Walker, and Ava Walker; sister, Sarah Ann Wester (Louis); nieces, Susan Wester Hough (Rodney) and Laura Wester Pearson (Harold).

Mr. Privette was preceded in death by his first wife Peggy Eatmon Privette and parents, Wesley Brooks Privette and Annie Richardson Privette.
