Starts at 2:00 pm (Eastern time)
Ruthalyn Bateman Hunt, 76, of Elm City, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on August 14, 2026.
A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at Farmington Heights Church on Saturday, August 22, at 2:00 p.m. There will be no visitation.
Ruth was the beloved wife of Rev. Ronald Hunt for 52 years. Together, they built a life centered on their faith, their family, and their calling to serve others. Throughout her entire adult life, Ruth faithfully served alongside her husband as a pastor’s wife. Together, they founded the Church of God Outreach Center, pouring their hearts into ministry and serving others with love and devotion.
Ruthalyn was a woman of great faith, integrity, humility, and kindness. She lived her faith not simply in words, but in every moment of her life. Her life was a beautiful testimony of unwavering faith in God and steadfast love for her family.
But above all the roles she held in life, Ruth cherished being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest accomplishments, she would tell you, were her children and grandchildren. She adored every single one of them and never missed an opportunity to tell you just how wonderful they were. Loving her family and spending time with them was one of her greatest joys.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Rev. Ronald Hunt. Together they had four children: Michelle Jackson and husband Ron; Renee Tucker and husband Michael; Ron Hunt and wife Nicole; and Jason Hunt and wife Michele.
She leaves behind eight grandchildren: Taylor Stone and husband Jordan, Jordan Paschal and husband Jordan, Lauren Antinucci and husband Anthony, Sydney Davis and husband Christian, Erin Bane and husband Caleb, Katelyn Tucker, Braeden Hunt, and Kinsley Hunt. She was also preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Madison Tucker, whom she carried in her heart.
Ruth was blessed with twelve great-grandchildren: Luke Stone, Jack Stone, Levi Davis, Brooklyn Davis, Harper Paschal, Caroline Paschal, Olivia Paschal, Ezra Antinucci, Cooper Antinucci, Samuel Antinucci, and Emerson Bane. She was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Chase Antinucci. Each of these precious children brought her immense joy, and she loved them beyond measure.
She is also survived by siblings who loved her dearly, along with many extended family members, friends, and spiritual brothers and sisters whose lives were touched by hers.
Ruthalyn’s faith remained steadfast to the very end. Some of her last words were, “I know God will heal me.”
He did.
We do not mourn as those who have no hope. We grieve because we loved her deeply, but we rejoice knowing that Ruthalyn is now in the presence of the Savior she faithfully served and trusted throughout her life.
All of our lives, He has been faithful. All of our lives, He has been so, so good. With every breath that we are able, we will sing of the goodness of God.
Ruth’s life was a testimony of faith, love, and devotion. Her legacy will live on in the family she cherished, the people she served, and the countless lives she touched. Though she will be missed forever, her family will stand on their heritage of faith in God. Ruth has fought the good fight, she has finished her race, and kept the faith. She won. She is home.
