Ruth Lancaster

Ruth Keen Lancaster, 79, of Wilson, passed away Sunday October 19, 2025.

A service will be held for the family.

Ruth dearly loved her small circle of family and friends. She was a long-time George Jones and New York Yankees fan. One of her last trips was to Yankee Stadium. She was completely happy being at home with her flowers, plants, and her beloved companion Turbo.

Ruth is survived by her daughter Tammy Griffin of Wilson and fiance’ James Bunn; son, Jeffrey Scott Keen of Wilson; grandson, Nick Griffin and wife, Taylor, of Fuquay Varina; brothers, Tony Whitley and wife, Bonnie, of Wilson and Donald Whitley of Rocky Mount, and sister-in-law, Kay Whitley of Elm City.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Whitley and Geneva Whitley Glover; husbands, J.W. ”Dick” Keen and Paul Lancaster, and brothers, Bill Whitley and Scotty Whitley.
