Sandy Adkins

Sandy Baltzegar Adkins, 81, of Wilson, faithful follower of Jesus, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, devoted sister and loyal friend passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, April 16, 2023 with her dear husband of 61 years, Charles, by her side.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, 2:00 PM, at Forest Hills Baptist Church.  The visitation will be one hour before the service.

Sandy had many challenging health concerns over the last several years, but she anxiously awaited the day when she would see her Savior, Jesus Christ, face to face. Sandy will be remembered as a loving, kindhearted, and joyful woman of faith. She laughed and cried with others, prayed for them, and encouraged them in their time of need. 

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Vera Lucas Baltzegar and Fred Eugene Baltzegar; sister, Brenda Baltzegar Buffaloe (Eddie); brothers-in-law, Kenneth Hill, Robert Adkins, and Callbie Wood. 

She is survived by her husband, Charles Allen Adkins, Sr.; son, Charles Allen Adkins Jr. (Linda) of Wilmington; daughter, Sarah Adkins Midkiff (L.E. “Kanöot”) of Ukraine; grandchildren, Charles A. (Trey) Adkins III, Caroline Ann Adkins, Carson Alexander Adkins, L.E. (Fisher) Midkiff IV, and Faith Elaine Midkiff; sisters, Elaine Baltzegar Hill and Lou Ann Baltzegar Pittman (George); and sisters-in-law, Nancy Lewis (Gene), Jane Wood, and Nancy Adkins. In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved as well as many dear friends who are like family.
