WILSON - Sid "Bud" Turner, 80, died Friday February 2, 2007. Mr. Turner was retired from the City of Wilson with 40 years of service and was a World War II Navy veteran serving in the South Pacific. Funeral, Monday 11:00 AM, Wilson Memorial Service conducted by Dr. Douglas E. Murray. Interment, Maplewood Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Pridgen Turner; daughter, Laura Smith of Kinston; son, Sid Turner of Olathe, KS; grandchildren, Sherri Varble, Sid Turner, Sarah Turner, Garrett Smith, and Tyler Smith; great-grandchildren, Kadin Varble and Nicholas Whisenant; sisters, Charlene Etheridge and Mildred Edwards of Elm City and brother, Larry J. Turner of Wilson. The family will be at the funeral home Sunday, 3:00 - 5:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 9, Wilson NC 27894.
