Sylvia Cone

Sylvia Lucas Cone, 84, of Wilson, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 21, 11:00 AM, Evergreen Memorial Park.

Sylvia was born on January 16, 1941 to the late Nora Wells Lucas and Curtis Lucas. She lived her entire life within one mile of where she was born and raised. She was married to the late JC Cone for 56 years and was a lifelong member of Milbournie Original Free Will Baptist Church. Through her working years she held numerous bookkeeping jobs for local businesses in the Wilson area. On any given day, you could find her at Bojangles with her friends as she was quite the social butterfly.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Horace Ray Lucas, Carris Lucas, and Farris Lucas; her sisters, Madeline McKeel and Rose Marie Lucas.

She is survived by her son Dean Cone (Tammy) of Ayden; granddaughter, Jordan Fox (Michael) of Greenville, SC; grandson, Curt Cone (Madison) of Ayden; her great-grandson, which bears her namesake, Lucas Fox; sister, Pearl Curlin of Charlotte and numerous nieces and nephews.
