Tillie Boykin

Nora M. "Tillie" Gay Boykin, 85, of Wilson, died Tuesday, February 6, 2024.

A graveside service will be Thursday, February 8, 2:00 PM, Evergreen Memorial Park, with Rev. Ray Barnhill officiating.

Tillie was a beacon of warmth and kindness. She had a contagious smile and was the starter of conversation in any room. Tillie was an advocate for always doing what is right and helping others. She will be remembered for her huge heart and leaves behind a legacy of love.

Tillie is survived by her daughter, Kim Boykin Tutor (Shawn) of Kenly; son, Marion J. Boykin III (Vanessa) of Tarboro; grandchildren, Matthew Boykin (Allie), Brittany Edwards (Rachel) and Braxton Tutor; great-grandsons, Walker A. Boykin and Mason J. Boykin; twin great-granddaughters, Ava and Emory Edwards; brothers, Billy Ray Gay (Janice) of Wilson and Benjamin A. Gay of Wilson and many beloved family members from the Boykin and Gay families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion J. Boykin, Jr.; parents, Prince Albert and Annie Cockrell Gay; sister, Jean Curlin.
