Tim Thorne

Timothy Roland Thorne, 65, of Wilson, died Thursday, June 18, 2026.

Tim was in the first graduating class of Beddingfield High School. He worked at ST Wooten as a heavy equipment operator for many years. Tim was very passionate about his kittens and cats. He loved to spend time fishing on the beach and pier at Emerald Isle. He loved his family and friends and Duke Basketball.

He is survived by his brother Tony Matthew Thorne and wife, Pam of Wilson; niece, Erin Pugh and husband, Tyler, of Sims; and nephew, Tyler Thorne of Wilson.

Tim was preceded in death by his father Joel Matthew “Mack” Thorne of Elm City and mother, Peggy Watson Wooten of Wilson.

A Celebration of Life for family & friends will be held on Wednesday, June 24, from 5:00-7:00 pm at the home of Tony and Pam Thorne, 1807 Lakeside Dr. NW, Wilson, NC.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Purrfect Hearts Cat Rescue in Wilson on Facebook which has a donate button on the first page.
