Toni Overman Brantley, 77, died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Stanhope, NC on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Her family was surprised and saddened by her sudden passing and will miss her dearly.
Funeral, Saturday, 1:00 PM, at First Baptist Church, Spring Hope, followed by visitation.
Mrs. Brantley was born in Wilson, NC in 1947 and was a graduate of Fike High School. She grew up in the Maplewood area of Wilson. She was the third of four girls. She lived for a time in England and Charleston, SC before returning to Wilson. Mrs. Brantley worked at the Eastern NC School for the Deaf, the Carolina Clinic, Standard Commercial Tobacco, and Manheim Auto Auction. She loved wildflowers, hummingbirds, dogs, honey, and dancing but most of all she loved her family and friends. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother whose spirit will live on in the wonderful memories of her time with us. Mrs. Brantley was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spring Hope. She is now together again with Charlie.
She is survived by her daughter Sheri Sammons of Wilson; son, William Sammons (Gigi) of Knightdale; step-daughter, Kathy Brantley of Wilson; step-son, Chris Brantley (Joyce) of Parker, CO; sisters, Pat Pierce of Rocky Mount and Wanda Overman and Carole LaChance of Canada; granddaughters, Sydney Sammons and Piper Sammons of Knightdale; step-granddaughter, Laura Brantley of Denver, CO; step-grandsons, Mark Brantley (Stephanie) of Charlotte and Greg Brantley (Emma) of Florida; step-great-grandson, James Brantley.
Mrs. Brantley was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Brantley in October of 2024; sister, Shirley Burnette; parents, Preston and Alma Ferrell Overman.
