WILSON - Wade Lee Barnes, 82, died Thursday, December 19, 2013.
Funeral, Monday, 2:00, First Presbyterian Church, followed by visitation.
He was former owner of Barnes Metalcrafters and was a U.S. Army veteran. Wade had served on the Wilson City Council, was a former Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge, former president of the Wilson Jaycees and was a JCI Senator.
Wade was preceded in death by a son, Wade Lee Barnes, Jr. and his parents, William and Minnie Downing Barnes.
He is survived by wife, June Lewis Barnes; daughter, Susan "Bootsie" Harris (Jerry) of Cary; grandchildren, Dolphin Overton of Denver, CO, Malory Overton Windham (Brady) of Middlesex and Kathryn Overton of Raleigh; sister, Minnie Mae Barnes of Wilson; brother, Sam Barnes of Wilson.
