WILSON - Wade Dupree Barnes, 83, died Saturday, June 7, 2008. An interior decorator, he had served in World War II in Europe with the 467th Army Air Corp Bomb Group as a tail gunner. He studied at UNC-Chapel Hill and came home to Wilson to become active in the youth programs of scouting and midget football. He coached a team into the Santa Claus Bowl in Florida. He retired from Barnes &: Flippin Interiors. Funeral, Tuesday, 10 AM, St Timothy's Episcopal Church, 202 Goldsboro St, followed by a time of visiting and sharing. Surviving is his wife, Wyndham Kerr Barnes: daughter, Martha Barnes Wrenn of Wilson: granddaughters, Martha Wade Wrenn Chaires (Jorge) of Greensboro, Katherine Elizabeth Wrenn of Annapolis, MD: Emily Preston Eubanks (Todd) of Redding, CT: great-grandchildren, Robert Michael and Ellen Kerr Shurman, Wade Davis and Henry Preston Eubanks: a brother, William Henry Barnes (Johnnie) of Decatur, GA.
