Wayne Aycock

Kermit Wayne Aycock, 81, of Lucama, Wednesday, December 13, 2023, in his home. 

Funeral, Saturday, December 16, 2:00 PM, Aycock Family Cemetery, 2107 NC 222, West of Fremont. Visitation, Friday, 7:00-8:30 PM, Wilson Memorial Service.

Wayne will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. At the heart of Wayne was his high school sweetheart and wife, Eva, and an intense love of his family and friends. He cherished his farming community and enjoyed riding around looking at the crops and visiting neighbors. He had a love for all animals and beautiful sunsets. Wayne was a lifelong farmer and was known for his tobacco, wheat, soybeans and corn crops.

He served in the Army from 1964-1970, and served a tour in Vietnam.

Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Eva Powell Aycock; daughters, Angela Capps (Ray) of Kenly, Crystal Aycock and Heather Aycock (Hector Venegas) of Elm City; son, Travis Aycock (Michelle) of Lucama; grandchildren, Alice Richardson, Emma Aycock, Ava Jackson, Piper Aycock, Addison Jackson, Daniel and Luke Venegas, Tucker and J.T. Aycock; brother, Phil Aycock (Vickie) of Lucama; sister-in-law, Judy Aycock of Lucama.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Grace Taylor Aycock; brothers, Randy and Donnie Aycock.
