HARRISBURG - William A. "Sully" Darden, Maj, USMC, Retd, died Monday, June 11, 2007, at his home in Harrisburg. He was a native of Stantonsburg and a son of the late Dr. Douglas B. and Molene Hughes Darden. Sully was the first Eagle Scout in Stantonsburg and a graduate of Charles L. Coon High School, Class of 1948. Funeral, Thursday, 11:00 AM, Stantonsburg United Methodist Church. Interment, Stantonsburg Cemetery. Surviving is his wife, Beverly Keesler Darden: daughters, Mary Darden of Washington, DC, and Heather Darden-Black of Bethlehem, PA: sons, Stuart Darden of Charlotte and Will Darden of Oxford: three grandchildren: sister, Mary Miller of Greensboro: brothers, Hughes Darden of Stantonsburg and Douglas B. Darden, Jr, of Grand Rapids, MI. The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive, Wednesday , 6:30 - 8:00 PM.
