William C. Hunter, Jr.

William C. Hunter, Jr., 76, of Wilson, died Monday, April 10, 2023.

Funeral, Thursday, 11:00 AM, Maplewood Cemetery followed by visitation.

Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. William C. Hunter and Martha Cheatham Hunter; sisters, Mary Jane Hunter and Betsy Hunter Forbes; brother, Theodore C. “Ted” Hunter.

William was a graduate of Ralph L. Fike High School and Davidson College and was a Vietnam Veteran.  He taught school at Christ School in Asheville and was an avid tennis player and enjoyed traveling around the world with his cousin Richard Johns.

He is survived by numerous cousins.

A special thank you is extended to the nurses of Promedica Hospice and to the sitters with the Sunshine Agency.
