David Thorne

Black Creek – David Carter Thorne, 85, died Monday, November 22, 2021.

Funeral, Wednesday, 11:00 AM, at the Black Creek Cemetery.  The visitation will be at Wilson Memorial Service, Tuesday, 6:00 – 7:30 PM.

Mr. Thorne owned and operated Thorne’s Body and Paint Shop.

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Williams (Wayne) of Black Creek; sons, James Thorne (Donna) of Four Oaks and Kenny Thorne (Crystal) of Black Creek; grandchildren, Heather Gates, Tiffany Williams, Blake Williams, Alisha Taylor, Beverly Peedin, Jamie VanOppen, David Thorne, Tyler Thorne and Travis Thorne; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Jenny Evans (Donnie) of Sims and Faye Denton of Wilson; brothers, Joe Thorne of Black Creek and Jesse Thorne (Sue) of Sims.

Mr. Thorne was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Barnes Thorne; parents, David C. Thorne and Ethel Lewis Thorne; son, Charles Ray Thorne; sisters, Barbara Davis and Mary Joyner; brothers, George Thorne and Tom Thorne and special dog, Peanut.
