ELM CITY – Eloise Carraway Johnson, 92, died Wednesday, September 1, 2021.

Funeral, Tuesday, September 7, 2:00 PM at Wilson Memorial Service, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment, Maplewood Cemetery. The service will be conducted by Eloise's grandson, Rev. Jim Hart.

Eloise is survived by her husband, Curtis Johnson; daughters, Carolyn Winstead Hart of Raleigh and Jean Winstead Meeks of Wilson; sister, Jean Knight of Rocky Mount; brothers, Kenneth Carraway of Wilson and Allen Norris of Tarboro. She was blessed and loved by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Willie and May Matthews Carraway; son, Arthur Bardin Winstead, Jr.; sisters, Carolyn O’Neal, Barbara Latta, Inez Cherry and Annie Lee Reid; brothers, Elton Carraway, Willie Carraway and George Carraway.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of Wilson Medical Center, 2130 Forest Hills Rd W, Suite A, Wilson NC 27893.
