Patricia Little

February 12, 1954 — January 28, 2021

On Thursday evening, January 28, 2021, Pat, who loved dancing, accepted God’s invitation to His party. She entered dancing joyfully, knowing her Daddy was waiting with Jesus and hoping there’d be fried chicken, collards and some homemade ice cream!

Pat was the beloved daughter of Thyra Shackleford Little and the late James D. “Mickey” Little. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sisters, Debra L. Bunn (Wilton) and Beverly L. Edwards (Stephen) both of Raleigh and Paula J. Little of Morganton. Pat was the very devoted aunt of Courtney Brocious (Jodi) of Garner, Wil Bunn (Teresa) and James Bunn of Kettering, OH, Christopher Edwards of Clayton and Nicholas Edwards (Camille) of Raleigh. She was great aunt to Wilton, Holden, Hawk and Ella. Also surviving her are aunts, Barbara Douglas and Mary Little both of Wilson and 15 cousins. Pat also cherished her lifelong friends, Lou Gay Kiessler and Mona Whitley Fulghum.

Pat graduated from Fike High School in 1972.  After 30 years of working, she retired from Diversified Opportunities. She was active in the ARC of Wilson, Special Olympics, Noah’s Friends and The Hope Singers. A remarkable human being Pat made an impact on everyone she met. Her joy for life, her outpouring of love and her belief that every single one of us is special helped us all see the world in a better light. She was quick to tell her family members they could excel at anything. If she was watching ice skating with one of her sisters, niece or nephews she would say. “You can do that but better!”  She was a dedicated Encourager going as far as telling Wolfpack players after any loss, “You can do it next time! Go Wolfpack!” Her family asks that you be “more like Pat” today, that you believe in the goodness of people, you embrace life unashamedly, dance with abandon and encourage the people you come into contact with daily. She is gone but her imprint on all of us will be felt forever. Be “more like Pat” every day.

A visitation will be held at Wilson Memorial Service on Saturday, February 6th from 2:00-3:00 PM. Masks should be worn.

In lieu of flowers the family requests you consider gifts to The Arc of Wilson County, 509 Nash St N, Wilson, NC 27893 or First Baptist Church, PO Box 1467, Wilson, NC 27894.  Cards may be sent to her mother at 2000 Cayuga Pl. Raleigh, NC 27612.
